Online Voting for 1L Elections and Candidate Statements

How Will Online Voting Work?

The process is fairly simple but takes a substantial amount of work by the SBA Elections Committee to carry out.  Basically the course will be added to your TWEN page by the Elections Committee based on the roster of eligible students provided to them by the Registrar office.  That list (approximately 130 students) is entered into TWEN by the Elections Committee one by one in order to only add eligible voting students to the “course” that allows them to vote in the election.

Once you have been added by the Elections Committee, one of the following courses (depending if you are a day or evening student) should be added to TWEN for you.

This is how the course should appear for you on TWEN.

Once you click on it you will see where you need to click to vote and the ballot should appear to give you the list of eligible candidates.

After you vote, your information (in terms of who you voted for) is submitted to Westlaw.  The only information the SBA has from voters is whether or not you voted and the final results of the election.

Below is a video walkthrough of the process in case you want additional information.

Candidate Statements

All First Year Representative Candidates were invited to submit a campaign statement. Below are the statements received by the Elections Committee by 10-23-14 at 12:05 pm PST.
