Jacquelyn Loyd (2D)

Name: Jacquelyn Loyd

Year/Division: 2D

Which activities and organizations are you involved with at McGeorge? I am a member of the McGeorge Law Review and of several clubs including Phi Alpha Delta, Criminal Law Society, and Lambda. I also work as a research assistant.

What is your favorite part about law school and/or McGeorge?  I love my fellow students, and the feeling of family I have with them. I love the professors, and how helpful they are.

What are your hobbies outside of law school? Running (currently training for my second 1/2 marathon), swimming, horse back riding.

What was the most memorable moment from your first year of law school? In Civil Procedure, Professor Vitiello asked who the class English majors were. Naturally, no one raised their hands. When he threatened to check our undergrad transcripts, I finally raised my hand, and received an extra assignment for not answering promptly the first time. It felt like the lowest moment in my life at the time, but I did well on the assignment. Civil Procedure eventually became my favorite and best class, and Professor Vitiello became one of my favorite professors. I will always remember that moment and how far I have come since then.
