Pacific McGeorge Globe Editor Positions Open

Title IV Authorization to Release Non-Institutional Charges (and prior year charges) Form

In order to use financial aid to cover any charges not directly related to taking a class such as health insurance, bookstore charges, library fines, student locker fees, parking fees,  card replacement fees, or returned check fees, the McGeorge Business office must have a completed Title IV Authorization form prior to funding being disbursed.  The form may be found here Title IV Authorization

FREE Women’s Self-Defense Class, September 27th from 12:00-3:00 p.m.

Lisa Thew returns to the McGeorge campus with Defense Awareness Seminar for women. The seminar begins with risk awareness training to protect one’s self from becoming victimized. This is followed by a set of very accessible and effective physical defense techniques. To register please RSVP  to Brian Sasom, Director of Public Safety at bsasom@pacific.edu. Class size is limited to the first 10 students to sign up.  A second class will be offered in the near future. For questions or further information contact Brian Sasom, 916-739-7306.

WORK STUDY POSITION in Graduate & International Programs Office

The Graduate & International Programs Office is looking for a work study student who will be able to assist in a variety of areas: Provide tours to prospective law students, answer phones, do data entry and clerical duties including scanning and uploading documents to files, stuffing envelopes, making folders, assist in processing applications, pack for recruiting events, update information in database, send emails to applicants.  We are looking for someone who has good communication and problem solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize workload, strong organization skills, is punctual, enthusiastic and Professional. WORK STUDY POSITION in Admissions Office

The Admissions Office is seeking upper division work study students to assist the admissions team with daily administrative needs and tasks. Work study students will also assist in recruiting activities including giving tours to prospective students, communicating with prospects, applicants and/or admitted students, as well as, assisting the admissions team during on-campus recruiting events. The position requires superior communication and problem solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills and punctuality. Admissions Office Looking for Volunteer Student Ambassadors

The Admissions Office is looking for student applicants to the Student Ambassador Program for the 2014-2015 Academic Year. Volunteer student ambassadors will serve as the face of Pacific McGeorge and assist the admissions team in the recruitment process by giving tours, communicating with prospective students, applicants and admitted students, and by attending on-campus and local off-campus recruitment events. Please see the full program description for program and application requirements. Applicants must be upper division students to be eligible. Volunteer to be an International Student Mentor

Graduate and International Programs is looking for J.D. students who are willing to help support and share their law school experience with a new international student by joining the International Student Mentorship Program. The mentorship program is designed to be an essential resource and support system for our foreign LL.M. and exchange students.  Mentors will act as a resource for their mentees by helping them with cultural adjustments, life at McGeorge, and coping with academic demands.  Throughout the academic year, mentors and mentees are encouraged to stay in regular communication with each other, typically spending social time together or catching up in person at least once a month (preferably more to start).  A successful mentor-mentee relationship is a partnership, where both mentor and mentee benefit by establishing a constructive relationship and a lifelong connection.  It is also acceptable to join together with another student to mentor two or three students as a group.   Please indicate this preference on the comment section of the application. Meal Plans now available in the Student Center

There are many reasons to purchase a meal plan, but top of the list is that you save money!! A $1000 meal plan allows $1100.00 in purchases and no sales tax is charged.  That is an 18.5% savings.Smaller Meal plans for $500 are also available. Campus Smoking Policy Reminder

Notice: to ensure a healthy campus environment, McGeorge has assigned six designated areas (listed below) for smoking.  Smoking outside of these areas is prohibited:

-Outdoor benches near classrooms A and B

-Benches on the left side of the entrance to the Lecture Hall as you face the building

-Light pole area to the rear of classroom C

-Parking lot on the west side of the Muddox Building

-Patio area inside the Silveracre housing complex

-Outdoor area in the no-parking zone near the pool-side corner of Southacre

Ashtrays should be present at all designated smoking areas.  A complete copy of McGeorge’s smoking policy may be found here.

Mokelumne River Field Trip (Water Law Society)

Join McGeorge Water Law Society and Environmental Law Society on an action-packed field trip to the Mokelumne River watershed. We will be visiting Camanche Reservoir and a hydropower plant, learning about the myriad of legal issues confronting this watershed, including CEQA, ESA, and land use conflicts. $10 for WLS/ELS members and $15 for non-members.
