Berkeley in the finals. Eurik also received recognition as a top oralist in the competition.

Spring Exam Preparation Reminders:
In order to use ExamSoft/SofTest to take essay exams in April/May, students must take a few steps now to prepare:
1. Installation and Registration: If you used SofTest to take Fall 2013 exams, you DO NOT need to Install and Register a new copy of the software – Go to Step 2. If, however, you handwrote your Fall 2013 exam essays or are new to McGeorge and wish to use ExamSoft this semester, you will need to complete this process.
a. Go to: examsoft.com/uopmcgeorge
b. Enter your student ID (988/989 number) and password.

c. Click on the Download button and follow the installation instructions. You will need your ID and password to complete the software Registration process.

NOTE: If you don’t have your password, click “Lost Student ID or Password?”, fill in the Student ID block, and then click Send. Your ExamSoft password will be emailed to your u.pacific.edu address. You should have recently received an email from Examsoft, reminding you to download exams and providing you with your password at the bottom of the email.

The ExamSoft Contact and Solution Center can provide the following to assist you:
· Self Service — Find answers to your questions.
· Submit a Ticket — Email the Customer Care Team
· Live Chat — Chat with the Customer Care Team

· Learning Tools — Find videos, reference guides and support files.

2. Laptop Preparation: Library Technology Specialist Dan Breuer will be holding “Laptop Cleanup Sessions” during Reading Period (April 30th – May 2nd) in the Student Center – we highly recommend that you take advantage of his expertise and have your laptop evaluated to ensure it is ready for exam time. Sometimes, language translation features, virus or malware software, or lack of hard drive free space can cause ExamSoft difficulties during exams. See attached “minimum laptop requirements:” http://libguides.mcgeorge.edu/content.php?pid=245023&sid=2024486. Contact Dan at (916) 739-7025 or at dbreuer@pacific.edu with any technical questions.

3. Download Exams: Although paper copies of the actual exam questions are distributed by proctors in the exam rooms, you must download each exam’s “page” in ExamSoft to enable you to type your responses for each specific exam. Open SofTest from your Desktop, Taskbar, or Dock (OSX), click on the ‘Download Exams’ button, select the exam(s) you wish to have ready, then click the ‘Download’ button. Be sure you download a “Mock Exam” also (you may do this up to 10 times) to become familiar with the download process and the SofTest program.

4. Final Preparations: You’re almost ready! Just prior to exams, be sure you do the following:
·Know Your Exam Number: You must know your 4-digit EXAM NUMBER during exams – be sure you bring it with you. Not sure – see the Registrar’s Office.
·Take Mock Exams: Be sure to take the “Mock Exam” from ExamSoft, and type in the blank space to become familiar with the features.
·Review Past Exams: Review last semester’s exams picked up from the Registrar’s Office – a great studying tool. Also, go to GoCAT: http://gocat.law.pacific.edu/ftlist to review past exams posted there.
·Computer Supplies: Be sure your laptop’s battery is fully charged, and/or you bring your laptop electrical plug-in cord with you to exams. External keyboards and a mouse are also allowed if you like.
·Exam Supplies: Always bring a pen with you to exams. Also consider bringing highlighter pens.
Feel free to see the Faculty Support Office with any exam questions or email us at: fso@pacific.edu.
