Field Placement opportunities in Lesotho
If you are interested in either a 7-week (4 units) or a 10-week (7 units) internship in a court or NGO in Lesotho in southern Africa, please contact Professor Carter at lcarter@pacific.edu or 739-7109 as soon as possible. The 7-week internship runs from May 29-July 18 and the 10-week internship runs from May 29-August 8.

Annual McGeorge Law Review Symposium – Register today!
Attention all McGeorge Students: Register today for the Annual McGeorge Law Review Symposium! This year’s featured topic is Growing, Growing, Gone – Innovative Ideas in Resources Management for a Growing Population. The symposium will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 with sessions running from 8AM-5:15PM. This symposium will discuss how we can proactively respond to a growing population through legal reform and careful planning to ensure that we do not overburden our natural resources. Job Opportunity: Library Research Assistant Positions Available

The Law Library is recruiting our next group of Library Research Assistants. This is a great summer work opportunity that is compatible with classes or another job. There is an excellent chance of continued employment in the program through the upcoming fall and spring semesters.

Receive specialized legal research training and mentoring from Pacific McGeorge Law Librarians while working with multiple professors on projects. You will receive exposure to a variety of research areas and learn skills to take on any research request thrown your way in the future.

This is a summer-fall-spring job opportunity with flexible hours that pays $13/hour. Applicants must be work-study eligible and should have successfully completed GLS I.

Job Opportunity: Library Circulation Desk Student Assistants

The Law Library is recruiting students to work at the circulation desk for this summer and beyond. Afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available. Duties include interacting with library patrons, staffing the circulation desk, checking items in and out, opening and closing the library, and answering the phone.

This position pays $10 per an hour, has the opportunity to regular weekly shifts plus opportunities for substituting, and extra hours may be available during school breaks. Applicants must be eligible for work-study.

Apply for the Fifth Annual Max Paulsen Community Service Award!

Through service, leadership and dedication, Mr. Paulsen has inspired youth and done amazing work in the community. This award, in the amount of $500, will recognize one student from Pacific (all schools/majors) who has exemplified leadership through volunteering his/her time and talent during the 2013-2014 academic year to contribute to Stockton or the surrounding community through the Center for Community Involvement (CCI).

To apply students must submit application, including a reflection essay with a 750 word maximum. The service guidelines require that the community service be recorded on Reach Out Online and must have been completed in Stockton or surrounding communities (80 mile radius) during the 2013-2014 academic year. Phi Delta Phi and Women’s Caucus Baby Necessities Drive
Phi Delta Phi and Women’s Caucus have joined together for the second year to collect desperately needed baby and children’s necessities for Tubman House. www.wakingthevillage.org. Needed: Diapers in all sizes, but especially sizes 3, 4, and 5; baby formula (soy & dairy); diaper wipes; and jarred/pouch-style baby food. Donation boxes will be in the student center from Monday March 31-Friday April 4.

No diapers to donate? No problem! Stop by the Gazebo on Thursday April 3 from 11am-1pm for donuts (and other delicious treats!) and find out more about Tubman House and the important work they do in our community.
