Greensheets Solicitations

The Board of Volume 46 of the McGeorge Law Review announces the solicitation window for the Greensheets Issue.Greensheets Solicitations

The Board of Volume 46 of the McGeorge Law Review announces the solicitation window for the Greensheets Issue. First-year day and second-year evening students in the top 50% of their respective classes and second-year evening students who won the Witkin Award for GLS I are invited to participate in the process. If you are currently in that group of students, you will receive notification of eligibility in the coming weeks.
An informational meeting and reception will be held on Monday, March 17th at 5:15, location to be announced. Please join current MLR writers and editors, the Volume 46 Board, and faculty supporters for a brief presentation and question-and-answer forum regarding what it means to be on Law Review.

The solicitation TWEN site will go live at 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 20 and submissions will be due at 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 3rd. Successful applicants will be notified the following week.

The McGeorge Law Review’s annual “Greensheets” issue consists of student-authored pieces discussing the background and legal implications of recently enacted California legislation. The “Greensheets” issue is the most popular issue of the year-and is one of the most widely read issues of any law review in the country by state legislators, judges, and lobbyists. Its purpose is to provide practicing members of the bench and bar a point of reference for what the new legislation does, how it changes the law, and why it may have been enacted. The distinctive academic publication is published annually in the spring.

Students author and edit the pieces, gaining both practical experience and curricular benefits as members of the McGeorge Law Review. In addition to writing, editing, and the possibility of becoming a published author, staff members have the opportunity to network with legislative committees, lobbyists, and policy analysts.

MULTIPLE CHOICE EXAM REVIEW PROCESS – Ends this Friday, Mar. 7th!
McGeorge offers students an opportunity to review their completed multiple choice exam answers, often resulting in a better understanding of why their responses were incorrect and/or providing the insight students need to then discuss a specific question(s) with their professor. Now is your time to review your fall multiple choice exams, and the process is explained below. We have this process in place to protect the security of the questions so they may be used in the future if faculty desire. **Remember this Friday, March 7th, is the last day you can review your fall exams!

Where: Main Faculty Support Office – FSO: (Faculty Building, behind Classrooms G & H)

Process:
1. On a FSO-provided post-it note, write across the top which exam you want to see, your section, and your 4-digit exam number, i.e., Torts – Levine, Evening, #1234.
2. You will be seated inside the FSO office with 1) your Scantron form, 2) the answer key, 3) the questions/exam, and 4) a post-it note and pen.
3. No backpack, additional pen/paper, other person, phone or electronic device, laptop, etc., will be allowed in the space with you.
4. Review your responses against the key and write down on the post-it only the number of the question(s) you wish to discuss with the professor.
5. When finished, give FSO Staff all exam materials and depart with your post-it note and belongings.
