Migrating Bald Eagles Hike

In an effort to keep healthy with minimal effort, I signed up for several hiking Meetup groups in Sacramento.  Meetup groups are organized by people with common interests.  There are meetup groups for practically everything out there.  Check it out here. I’ve gone on three hikes with them and will attempt to document those hikes here.  This is the last one I went on with a fellow McGeorge Student.  We went to the Cache Creek Canyon to see the migrating bald eagles.  Backpacker Magazine, September ’10 issue published this hike as one of the best hikes to do in Northern California.  I didn’t take any of these photos, a fellow hiker took them.

The group. My fellow classmate and I are in the front.

 Here we are hiking.

We had to cross this creek twice.  The first time, we took off our shoes, but found that it was harder to go at it barefoot because the water was so cold.  I have a hilarious photo of my fellow classmate being escorted across by an elderly hiker.

Most of the hikers were older and fitter than us.  It was embarrassing how much we wheezed alongside them throughout the hike.
