RSVP for the MBE Boot Camp Today!
Pacific McGeorge is pleased to announce the MBE Boot Camp, presented by MBE expert and Barbri Professor Jeff Scheiner. This free, two-day workshop will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on March 1 and 2 in the Lecture Hall. Although the focus is multiple choice on the bar exam, any students interested in improving their multiple choice skills are welcome to attend. The subjects covered are:

March 1: Contracts, Property, Crimes (Criminal Law & Procedure)
March 2: Torts, Evidence, Constitutional Law

Each subject’s presentation should take roughly one hour. If you would like to attend, even if only for a portion of the program, please RSVP to Professor Lee at clee1@pacific.edu (do not forget the “1”), so we know how many packets to print.

Watch Mock Trial Pros in Action!

We have a limited number of openings for students who wish to play a role in the ALL Pacific-McGEORGE MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION. This competition pits top students from the Fall Semester Trial Advocacy Course against Pacific McGeorge’s two Mock Trial Competition Teams that will be going the following week to the National Trial Competition sponsored by the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association. The competition will take place on campus and Judges from the area will preside. The battle will be fierce! The level of advocacy will be high! You will have a court side seat to top level advocacy and will learn a lot about trial skills by appearing as a witness. First Years, please note this will be great pre-preparation for the upcoming First Year Mock Trial Competition – about which more information will be released shortly!

Time Required: Severa hours of preparation time to learn a short role from script, then about three hours on Saturday, February 8 either from 8:30 – 12:00 or 12:30 – 4:00.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 Legal Studies Institute in Washington, DC, sponsored by The Fund for American Studies. The Legal Studies Institute provides the opportunity for law students to gain a first-hand look at the American legal system through guaranteed legal internships, a constitutional law course, guest speakers and briefings, and professional development activities.Students are encouraged to apply by the early deadline of February 6, 2014 to receive priority admissions consideration and a 5% discount on their tuition balance. 2nd Annual McGeorge Negotiation Competition – Save the Date!
Attention All McGeorge Students: The ADR Club is hosting the 2nd Annual Negotiation Competition open to all students. It will be on Friday, February 21, with winners advancing to the final rounds on Saturday, February 22. Sign Up on TWEN (McGeorge Alternative Dispute Resolution Club). Barrister’s Ball Ticket Sales (SBA Barrister’s Ball Committee)

Barrister’s Ball (known by some as the ‘law school prom’) is one of the largest and most memorable campus events of the year. All around the United States (as well as the UK, Australia and Canada), Student Bar Associations throw a night to remember open to the student body. The theme of this year’s event will be: WELCOME TO WONDERLAND Come follow us down the rabbit hole. Individual tickets are $75 each and if you buy a table of 10 it is $700 total. Your ticket includes a 3 course meal with a 4 hour hosted bar with beer, wine, and champagne. The meal choices are chicken, salmon, or a vegetarian option of Mediterranean couscous; please know your meal choice or the meal choices of your entire table when you purchase tickets. Tickets are NOT available at the door, so don’t be late for a very important date. Tickets will be on sale for 3D/4E students from January 21-23 from 12-1 PM and 5-6 PM in the Student Center. Tickets are on sale for ALL students from January 27-30, also on sale from 12-1 PM and 5-6 PM in the Student Center. Tables may be reserved in groups of 10.
