Drugs & Damages: A Debate About California’s Proposition 46

October 1, 2014 @ 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm

Attorneys representing both sides will argue in favor and against the passage of Proposition 46. Professors Levine and Moylan will moderate and invite questions from those in attendance. Proposition 46 proposes changes to California’s Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA), which currently sets pain and suffering damages at $250k. Proposition 46 would also require drug testing for physicians and create new standards for prescribing certain drugs to patients. Refreshments will be served.

This event is co-sponsored by the Civil Justice Association of California, Consumer Attorneys of California, the Pacific McGeorge Capital Center for Law and Public Policy, and the Pacific McGeorge Governmental Affairs Students Association.
