Weekend update: I went hiking in the French Alps on Saturday. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as the “French” Alps. I promise that it is a real place, even though it looks like we hiked along a photo backdrop. We (Church group and I) took the tram up to Flegere, which is at 1,877m. We hiked for about 2 hours…up…the whole way. The hike overlooked the Mer de Glace glacier. The pictures describe it a million times better than any words I can use.
We stopped to have a picnic at the lake.

A few of us ran/hiked down the mountain. 4,000m descent in 1.5 hours.
