MBE BOOT CAMP
Need help with multiple choice?  Join MBE expert and Barbri professor Jeff Scheiner for the Pacific McGeorge MBE Boot Camp, March 7 & 8, 10:00 AM -1:00 PM in the Lecture Hall.  Here is what one of last year’s attendees had to say about the Boot Camp:
“In addition to providing the black-letter law in substantive, bar-tested areas, it gave me a solid introduction into what to expect on the Bar Exam, and solid strategies for success.  The instructor also gave clear and meaningful information about the structure of the MBE, including the approximate quantity of questions in each subject matter area. The instructor goes through each sample exam and gives details about what makes one answer better than another.   When combined with my results from the actual sample tests taken, this has helped me self-assess for more effective future studies. I found this method so effective that even though I attended last year, I’ll be attending again this year. Really a must for 2015 Bar takers, and 2016 students will benefit as well.” – Lexi Howard, 4E
See you March 7 & 8 in the Lecture Hall!

Seniors: Bar Simulation Day
On Saturday, March 14, 3D and 4E students have the opportunity to participate in the Pacific McGeorge Bar Simulation Day.  This simulation will mimic the real bar exam, with three essay questions in the morning, a break, and a performance test in the afternoon.  Everyone who writes this simulation also will receive individualized feedback on each answer, and the chance to attend a review session.
Time management and endurance are vital to bar preparation, and simulated writing practice is the single biggest key to success this summer. This is your chance to assess your skills before you even graduate, so don’t miss this opportunity to start down the path to being ONE AND DONE!  Seniors, please check your Pacific email account for further details and copies of the legal rules to study in advance, or check the McGeorge Bar Prep Blog.

Thank You to Those Who Helped Welcome Our Visiting Professors

Many thanks to all the students who helped us welcome our 8 visitors from Russian Foreign Trade Academy last week. You allowed them to observe you in your classes and you befriended them on the walkways. It all made a great impression and contributed to their satisfaction with the progress toward the goals of our 2-school project: introducing interactive/experiential learning modes in Russian law-school classes.

SPRING MID-SEMESTER ASSESSMENTS AND MID-TERM EXAM PREPARATIONS
Spring 2015 Mid-Semester Assessments have begun and many students have formal Mid-Term Exams on Saturday, March 7th. Here are quick reminders to ensure you’re ready for exams:
1. Registered with ExamSoft: If you used ExamSoft for Fall 2014 finals, you DO NOT need to re-register. If you used exambooks/bluebooks for exams during Fall 2014 or are new this semester to McGeorge, and now want to use ExamSoft, you do need to register.
2. Computer Clean-up: ExamSoft Technical Support Dan Breuer can “clean” your computer in advance of assessments/mid-terms. Call him at (916) 739-7025, email him at dbreuer@pacific.edu or see him in the Library, to ensure that language translation programs, virus or malware software, or lack of hard drive issues don’t affect you during an exam.
3. Download Exams: An email sent out last week informed students of available exams to download (downloads a blank placeholder – we provide paper copies of all exams on exam day). By doing this step now, you ensure that your user name and password are correct and you’re ready for exams.
4. Mock Exams: Log into ExamSoft (URL above) and take the available “Mock Exams” – nothing is recorded, but it give you an opportunity to “see” the blank screen and features (spell check) well before exam day.
5. Exam ID Number: Know your four-digit exam number before going into an exam.
6. Review Past Exams: Include reviewing previous course exams as part of your study plan – go here.
7. Computer Supplies: Be sure your computer battery is fully charged, bring the electric cord, and bring/pack an external keyboard or mouse, if you like.
8. Exam Supplies: Always bring a pen or two with you in case you end up or plan to write in exambooks/bluebooks. Consider bringing highlighter pens as well.

Contact the FSO with any exam/assessment questions at : fso@pacific.edu. And good luck on your assessments and exams!
