MESAA Presents: Ticket Sales for the 11/7 Malala Fund Fundraiser
12:00 – 1:00 pm and 5:00 – 6:00 pm | Student Center Table
Purchase your tickets today – The Middle Eastern South Asian Association invites you to join us on Thursday, November 7th, for an evening of fine Mediterranean cuisine and the opportunity to donate to a great cause! In October 2012, 15-year-old Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai was shot while returning home from school. Malala was targeted because of her views on promoting education for girls. While Malala’s struggle has brought visibility to the lack of education resources for children in underdeveloped countries, 61 million children ages 15 and younger – the majority of whom are girls – aren’t in school today. Without education, leadership skills and subsequent opportunity, the marginalized existence of girls and women will continue. In Fall 2013, The Malala Fund was launched to help amplify the voice of girls fighting for the right to education. With your help, on November 7th MESAA will join the fight by donating 50% of all proceeds to The Malala Fund. Please join us at Darna Restaurant on 925 K St Sacramento, at 7:00pm, to support this great cause, and enjoy great food for only $20. Buffet includes steak, tilapia, kabob, hummus, dessert, and more!
