The Docket
AnnouncementsMultiple Choice Exam Review Process
Students often gain insight into their multiple choice grades by viewing their Scantron sheet, the professor’s “answer key,” and the questions – especially important for year-long classes. Now is the time to review your fall multiple choice exams. The process is explained below. This process is in place to protect the security of the questions so they may be used in the future, if faculty choose to do so.

When:
January 28 through April 1, 2013 (last day to review)
Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Time:
Schedule an appointment by clicking here. Or simply drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis. Allow 15-30 minutes per exam reviewed.

How:

  1. On an FSO-provided post-it note, write across the top which exam you want to see, your Section, and your 4-digit exam number, i.e., Torts – Levine, Evening, #1234
  2. You will sit inside the FSO office with: 1) your Scantron form, 2) the answer key, 3) the questions/exam, and 4) your post-it note and pen. No backpack, additional pen/paper, other person, phone or electronic device, laptop, etc., will be allowed in the space with you (we will hold them for you).
  3. Review your responses against the key and write down only the number of the question(s) you wish to discuss with the professor.
  4. When finished, give FSO Staff all exam materials and depart with your post-it note.

Law Students Needed to Serve as Judges
The California YMCA Youth & Government program is looking for law students to act as judges for mock trials being conducted by high school students. The volunteers will sit as the actual judge during the mock trials (i.e. wear the black robe, sustain/overrule objections, render a verdict, etc.). Volunteers will be needed on Sunday, February 17, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The mock trials will be taking place in downtown Sacramento, at the Sacramento Superior Courthouse. Volunteer judges should have already successfully completed a course in Evidence. While not required, students who have taken trial advocacy or participated in mock trial are preferred. For more information and to sign up, please contact Catherine Voelker by email catherine.voelker@ventura.org.
