Move to approve minutes

Elections Committee- (Ernesto) 8-10 people; 3 names of people who were already interested then we had 4 more people show up with interest, at the end there were about 9 (Anthony); 1 or 2 from evening (Ernesto); that many people being interested means that, in his opinion, the uniqueness requirement needs to be stripped (Ernesto);
Move to strike the uniqueness requirement (Ernesto), second (Stephen)

Motion passes
Co-chairs wanted 5 days for voting (Nav); first time using TWEN for elections so for a technical standpoint there needs to be 150 people imputed into the program to get the votes come up so the Elections Committee needs to monitor that and we may need an extended period just for the technical glitches (Ernesto); 30 days from the election period (Dustin); Objective is to finish mid-October (Ernesto); No holidays included in the voting days (Ernesto and Dustin); the 22-27 was the requested period (Nav); No control on TWEN voting because we can’t monitor it (Kate); It would be helpful for evening students to have evenings and weekends to vote (Lexi); Do we need to have the full day to count the votes (Neil); just for technicalities sake, we should keep the full day (Ernesto); there is a run off provision in the bylaws (Megan); Is there a way for TWEN to track time of day that the voting is recorded (Megan); there should be a time stamp (Ernesto); we could change the procedure to be more accommodating in the future with that data (Megan); will speak to Jessica Greathouse about getting that information (Ernesto)
Move to extend voting to 5 days and amend to “less than 2 academic days…” (Ernesto), second (Shoeb)
9 ayes, 0 nays, open for comment
Will publish on Facebook group to explain the changes (Ernesto)
Anthony’s internal focus community ideas; no more than $3-5 would be reasonable for the evening class (Megan); $1.50-$2 would be reasonable for the 3D class (Nav); uncomfortable with the idea (Dustin); in favor of the program because the evening class doesn’t get the benefit of what they are paying for because most of it is during the day (Megan); over the course of 4 years there are more day students…we shouldn’t do quantity over quality (Dustin); Doesn’t have to be an event (Megan); this could be an SBA event for each class just to get people out to talk etc. (Ernesto); The evening students pay for another year so it’s not unreasonable to offer something nice for each class (Neil); the money has to come from something and the one thing that might not be missed is the end of year bbq (Ernesto); we could just use the surplus (Neil); that should be the last place we look (Ernesto); our reserve amount can in part go to this event-or take from the committees (Neil); why can’t we just have committees put on small events for each class (Kate); there aren’t specific rules that restrict what each class rep can do- they can actually represent their constituents (Shoeb); the budget can be amended for these events, a little off the top of each budgeted activity (Neil); the McGeorge benefit account can be spent towards that program; we will bring this up to the next meeting
Move to end the meeting (Ernesto), second (Shoeb)
