Especially around finals time when the number of Rockstar cans increase three-fold it is important for us to recycle.Expect to see more recycling bins in the near future around campus, in the library and near the Student Center.

FINALS APPROACH! STRESS JOINS.Finals are just a few days away and we know it can be a very stressful time. We want you to know that there are resources and people out there to help you: McGeorge has two counselors on campus to help students manage the issues that law school may create or aggravate. Dr. Dale Brody, a local clinical psychologist and Dr. Stacie Turks, Associate Director of Clinical Services and Staff Psychologist from the Cowell Wellness Center at our Stockton Campus will accept student appointments. Both Dr. Brody and Dr. Turks have a wealth of experience in counseling law students on anxiety, depression and stress management. You can schedule them through the Stockton campus by calling (209) 946-2315.Counseling is also available through the Anthem Blue Cross Student Health Insurance Plan (brochures and information available from the Dean of Students Office). Plus, as students ourselves, the SBA has gone through what you are going through. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to let any SBA member know.
STUDENT CENTER HOLIDAY & PHILANTHROPYWe first want to remind all students and student organizations that if you wish to celebrate a wintertime holiday other than Christmas and want to provide some other holiday decorations, feel free to contact Sarra Ziari(916.739.7391) or Rebekah Grodsky (916.739.7089).There are various philanthropy projects happening at Pacific McGeorge. It is especially important we remember to give back to the community and do our part to help those less fortunate. There is currently a SBA Community Service Food Drive (bins where you can donate non-perishable food are located in the Student Center, Blackacre and Northwest Hall). Already completed is the PDP and MALS Angel Tree Project (Members of the McGeorge community generously donated gifts for children and shelter animals then PDP and MALS hosted a wrapping party on November 29). McGeorge Women’s Caucus continues to be a strong supporter in the community through their involvement with Bret Harte. They are assisting a family facing rough times in a truly hands on approach. We commend all those involved in these and other philanthropy projects.
PACIFIC MCGEORGE STUDENT PHILANTHROPY PROGRAMFor generations, alumni and friends have joined together in philanthropic giving to help ensure Pacific McGeorge’s position as a leader among law schools. In ways large and small, this support sustains and helps grow student scholarships, supports student organizations, keeps our campus beautiful and ensures that the school is better equipped to meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges.Whether through regular philanthropic giving programs, or through the celebrated Dean’s Council, it is never too early to help build a legacy of long-term growth. As a student, you can participate in any capacity you can comfortably manage – and if you choose to elevate your participation to the Dean’s Council, you will enjoy a special, reduced rate, as well as  a host of exclusive opportunities. Gifts at any level, when combined with others, make a real difference!A gift, no matter the size, when combined with others makes a real difference.  The Student Philanthropy Program participants enjoy many benefits, including: networking with alumni and donors; joining the Dean’s Council at a special reduced rate of $25 per year to receive exclusive event invitations such as Dean’s Council mixers; and graduating participants may write a message to their loved ones in the Commencement Program.  You also have the option to designate your gift to a McGeorge organization that matters the most to you – whether that’s a scholarship, student group, legal clinic, campus program or the McGeorge Fund. When we work together, we are a law community without equal! To participate or learn more, contact the SBA Alumni Development Sub-Committee:
