PLSS Elections will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 5:15pm!

Please see below for the duties of each board position that we will be electing.  Send a brief (1-2 paragraph) letter of intent including the position you are applying for, past experience relating to the job duties required, and why you think you would be a good candidate to d_forward@u.pacific.edu.  Formal dress is not required.   Please submit letter of intent no later than April 17th at 5PM.

President. The President is responsible for: (1) assisting the Executive Director to organize and plan all club events and activities, (2) coordinating elections in  (3) communicating with members via email (4) responding to emails sent to the club’s general email account- mcgeorgeplss@gmail.com, (5) assisting the Executive Director and Executive Co-Chairs to organize and solicit donations for the Live and Silent Auction.

Vice President. The Vice President is responsible for: (1) planning and organizing the Public Legal Services Society’s Welcome Event for new and returning students during the fall semester of his/her first term, (2) assisting the Executive Director and the President to plan and organize all club activities and events, (3) assisting the Executive Director and Executive Co-Chairs to organize and solicit donations for the Live and Silent Auction.

Secretary. The Secretary is responsible for: (1) posting job and internship opportunities on the club blog at the request of the Executive Director, other Board Members, or the McGeorge Career Development Office, (2) creating and maintaining a list of donors and sponsors that have pledged to give to the current year’s Live and Silent Auction, and (3) assisting the Executive Director and Executive Co-Chairs to organize and solicit donations for the Live and Silent Auction.

Treasurer. The Treasurer shall be responsible for: (1) coordinating with the Business Office, Administration and the Student Bar Association to efficiently manage all funds related to club activities and the Live and Silent Auction, (2) collaborating with the Executive Director to compose an annual budget for the club, (3) assisting all Board Members with reimbursements for club expenditures, (4) coordinating with the Executive Director and the Events Office to solicit sponsors for the Live and Silent Auction.

Public Relations. Public Relations shall be responsible for: (1) coordinating with the Executive Director to publicize all club events and the Live and Silent Auction, (2) creating, with the help of the campus Media Department, all media and marketing materials for the club, (3) routine maintenance of the club blog and social media networks, (4) communicating with members via email as requested by the Executive Director or Executive Co-Chairs, and (5) assisting the Executive Director and Executive Co-Chairs to organize and solicit donations for the Live and Silent Auction.

Community Outreach: Community Outreach shall be responsible for: (1) communicating with the Executive Director and the Executive Co-Chairs regarding the community service events that the Committee has planned and organized, (2) at the request of the Executive Director, publicizing and creating marketing materials, with the assistance of the Public Relations Chair, for the promotion of Community Outreach Committee events.
