Networking Event [California Bar Tax Event]
- The California Tax Bar is having their annual conference in San Jose, November 3-5. Students are able to register for only $75. Click Here for Details.
Networking Event [MBA Bootcamp]
- Venture capitalist Jack Crawford and Dan Wadhwani, Professor of Entreprenship at Pacific’s MBA program, have invited us to attend their MBA Bootcamp for FREE. Classes are held at Velocity Venture Capital located in Folsom from 6-9pm on Thursdays. This is a very exciting opportunity for any of you wanting to take your networking to the next level. Free Tax & Business Law Journal Subscription
- California Bar allows students to enroll in three sections a year for FREE. Enrollment includes subscriptions to practitioners guides, the same you’ll be using in practice. Click here to get the form.
VITA [Volunteer Income Tax Assistance]
- As many of you know, VITA is our bread and butter. It is a program that we co-host with the IRS that enables students to help prepare tax returns for people who earn less than $33,000 dollars in a fiscal year. It is an amazing opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience with the tax forms they will likely see in practice.
- We need both tax preparers and site coordinators. If you have any experience in preparing tax returns please sign up to be a site coordinator. You can sign up by emailing me by October 28. Click here for more information.
- For those of you who do not have any experience in preparing tax returns, you are in for a real treat. Please email me if you would like to help out. Stay tuned for training dates.
This year we will be joining forces with the SBA to expand our services to the surrounding neighborhood. This means we will be needing people more than ever. It’s going to be a very exciting time!
