Massage therapy is meant to relax a person, or rehabilitate them after an injury, yet over the past five years efforts to professionalize and regulate massage therapy on the statewide level have led to uncomfortable positions for cities, counties, employers and even some massage therapists. However, the issue at the core of massage therapy regulation raise one of the primary questions facing the state: where is the appropriate line drawn between state regulation and local government control?
